Tdap Immunization Reminder and Clinic Dates

As the new school year approaches, APS reminds parents and guardians that all incoming sixth grade students must provide documentation that they have received a Tetanus-Diphtheria, Pertussis (Tdap) booster immunization before the first day of school. Students who do not submit documentation of an up-to-date Tdap vaccine will not be permitted to start school.

Summary of the August 17 School Board Meeting

At the start of the Arlington School Board meeting on Thursday, August 17, 2017, the Board observed a Moment of Silence to remember the lives of Heather Heyer, Virginia State Patrol Pilot, Lt. H. Jay Cullen, and Virginia State Trooper Berke Bates, as well as the many others who were physically or emotionally injured by the violence in Charlottesville last weekend.

APS Students Continue to Outperform Their Peers on 2017 SOLs

On August 15 the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) released 2017 SOL results for all public school divisions and schools. Arlington Public Schools (APS) students continue to pass the Virginia Standards of Learning (SOL) tests at higher rates than their peers across Virginia.
