Sept. 27 Engage Updates: Elementary Boundary Process Questionnaire: Update on Strategic Plan Performance Objectives.

New Information & Community Questionnaire on the Elementary School Boundary Process
In follow-up to the Sept. 26 “Getting Started” Community Meeting, staff published proposed new boundaries for Abingdon, Barcroft, Drew, Fleet (Henry), Hoffman-Boston, Long Branch, Oakridge, and Randolph. Final boundaries are scheduled for adoption by the School Board on December 6, which will take effect September 2019 when Fleet opens and Drew becomes a full neighborhood school as the Montessori program moves to Henry.

Community members can participate in this process in several ways, including:

  • Online Community Questionnaire: Provide your input online in English or Spanish using the questionnaire available through Oct. 9 at apsva.us/elementary-school-boundary-change/
  • Staff Open Office Hours: Bring your questions for staff to answer from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at Kenmore Middle School (200 S. Carlin Springs Rd.).
  • Via Email: Send questions or comments about the proposed boundaries to staff by writing to engage@apsva.us.

Community input will be shared online, at the Oct. 10 School Board Work Session and the Oct. 17 “What We’ve Heard” Community Meeting on the Fall 2018 Elementary School Boundary Process. School Board to Adopt 2018-24 Strategic Plan Performance Objectives on Oct. 4
The School Board will adopt the 2018-24 Strategic Plan performance objectives at its next meeting on October 4. School Board meetings are held at 7 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the Syphax Education Center (2110 Washington Blvd.). Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).
