“What We’ve Heard” Meetings Scheduled for Oct. 25 and 26

“What We Heard” Community Meetings Next Week for Middle School Boundary Change – Same Meeting, Two Nights

APS staff will present a second round of proposals for middle school boundaries at the following community meetings:

  • Wed, Oct. 25, from 7-9 p.m. at Yorktown High School (5200 Yorktown Blvd) * Livestream Link
  • Thu, Oct. 26, from 7-9 p.m. – Wakefield High School (1325 S. Dinwiddie St.)

The proposals were developed after receiving community input at the “Getting Started” meetings and online. These will shape the Superintendent’s recommendation to the School Board that will create boundaries for the new middle school at Stratford, relieve crowding at some schools, and balance enrollment among all six middle schools. The Oct. 25 meeting will be live-streamed and posted on the Engage webpage. Please note that the same meeting will be held on both nights  simultaneous translation in Spanish will be available.

Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).
