Washington-Liberty International Baccalaureate Diploma Program Tops World Statistics

The International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) released worldwide results last week and Washington-Liberty High School students are at the top of IB world statistics.

In an unprecedented move in their 50-year history, the International Baccalaureate Organization decided to cancel May 2020 examinations due to safety concerns regarding COVID-19. The IB organization instead chose to base scores largely on internal assessments (completed in every IB course), predicted grades, and five years of world and school data. While there has been concern raised as to how this unprecedented method would affect student scores, students at Washington-Liberty have come out on top of worldwide results.

Students at W-L surpassed their worldwide peers in diploma pass rate, average score pass rates, and the average points earned by diploma candidates.

Worldwide Washington-Liberty HS
Diploma Pass Rate 79.1% 94.5%
Average score pass rate (7 highest score) 4.80 4.96
Average points earned by Diploma Candidates 29.92 31
