Wakefield Senior to Receive AGLA Award

Wakefield High School senior Evie Priestman has been given the Equality Award from the Arlington Gay and Lesbian Alliance (AGLA).

The award is presented to an individual and one to an organization that have demonstrated a record of improving lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning (LGBTQ) equality. AGLA is a strong beacon for equality. It is an inclusive nonpartisan organization open to all LGBTQ people and straight allies. The organization provides fun social activities, builds relationships with elected officials, and works with civic groups on community service.

The award will be presented at a reception titled “AGLA – 35 Years of Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow” on Fri, Nov. 11 in Crystal City. For more information, visit www.agla.org/agla35.
