Join us for a follow-up to Arlington’s first Town Hall on Substance Use

One Community PicDo you know what a juul is; the signs of substance use or addiction; who to call or where to turn if you or someone you know needs help?These issues and more will be addressed at Arlington’s second Town Hall on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, 7-9 p.m. at Kenmore Middle School, 200 S. Carlin Springs Road.

Moderated by Kimberly Suiters of WJLA Channel 7, the panel includes School Resource Officers, School Substance Abuse Counselors, County health providers, and a family with a personal story to share. Their remarks will focus on:

  • Recognizing the signs of substance use;
  • What the schools and the county are doing to address substance use by teens;
  • Where and how to get help for someone with a substance use disorder.

Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).
