The Arlington School Board’s June schedule of Board Meetings, Work Sessions, and Advisory Council and Committee Meetings is now available. As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, this schedule is subject to change with advance notice provided on the APS website. The information provided below was updated on May 26, 2021.

June School Board Meetings
As of March 11, 2021, regular School Board meetings are held in-person. Work sessions and most other meetings will continue to be held virtually until further notice. To meet safely, the School Board is taking steps to protect the community, staff, and Board members as they conduct public business. During in-person meetings, the Board will comply with all health and safety guidelines. Special accommodations will be made for attendees who cannot wear a mask due to a medical condition.
All Citizen Comment will be heard at the beginning of the Board meeting and the comment period is limited to one hour. The Board will offer speakers the option to call in or to sign up to speak in person. The Board will allow up to 15 in-person speakers and 15 call-in speakers. If fewer than 15 people sign up to speak in person, the Board will allow additional call-in speakers to fill any empty slots. A lottery process will continue to be used if more than 30 speaker requests are received. Please go to the Sign Up to Speak at a School Board Meeting page for directions.
School Board meetings start at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted. School Board meetings can be viewed live online or on Comcast Channel 70 or Verizon Channel 41. Agendas and additional information are available in BoardDocs.

School Board Open Office Hours
The School Board welcomes and encourages parents and community members to share their views. Board members will hold virtual Open Office Hours. Information on how to sign-up will be posted on the APS homepage and sent via APS School Talk on Fridays. Guidelines to participate in Open Office Hours and the upcoming schedule is posted on the Open Office Hours web page. Open Office Hours are not held during the summer.

School Board Advisory Councils and Committees
The School Board seeks the advice of community members through a wide range of advisory committees and councils. These advisory committees and councils are appointed by the School Board, advise the School Board and, when appropriate, make recommendations on issues or policies related to the successful operation of the school system.
