Local singer songwriter and H-B Woodlawn sophomore Calista Garcia has been selected from more than 700 applicants nationwide to attend one of two GRAMMY Camp programs this summer.
GRAMMY Camp is a five-day nonresidential summer music industry program for high school students sponsored by the GRAMMY Foundation. Hosted by Belmont University in Nashville and USC Thornton School of Music in Los Angeles, students from across the country apply for one of the eight offered career tracks.
GRAMMY Camp faculty of music professionals as well as guest industry professionals provide valuable insight to give the campers the best chance at achieving success in their chosen career.
Garcia was one of 12 young artists selected in the songwriting program in Nashville. This spring, she was chosen as the 2017 Bernard Ebbs Foundation Young Songwriter of the Year. She will also be attending the Berklee School of Music Five Week Summer Performance program this summer.
More information on upcoming performances can be found on her website.
