2. Secondary Students Now Have Access to PAPER Academic Support

APS is now offering free virtual on-demand academic support for all students in Grades 6-12 this school year. Students receive unlimited 24/7 one-on-one support with assignments, writing feedback and studying support for all subjects, delivered by a live tutor through PAPER’s platform.

H-B Woodlawn Senior Learns Mandarin in Taiwan

Olivia Van Hoey earned a scholarship to study Chinese (Mandarin) for six weeks in Taiwan through a National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI‑Y) scholarship. NSLI‑Y is a program of the State Department’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) that promotes the study of several languages. Olivia competed with thousands of applicants from high schools across the country and is among over 400 students to win the scholarship. Congratulations, Olivia!

5. Coming Soon: APS Recognizes Hispanic Heritage Month

Each year, we observe National Hispanic Heritage Month from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, to celebrate the histories, cultures and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean and Central and South America. APS will again recognize student leaders and share their stories throughout the month.
