1. VIDEO: Cross-generational “Walking School Bus” Takes Foot at Oakridge Elementary
Not only does the Walking School Bus program help our environment and lessen traffic on our roads, but it also provides a way for students walking to school to come together with the community. Watch as Oakridge students form more than a special bond with community members from an entirely different generation.
2. Review and Update Vital Student, Parent and Emergency Info in ParentVUE
Have you reviewed or updated your contact information in ParentVUE as part of the Annual Online Verification Process (AOVP)? We need every family to verify that our information on file is accurate and current. Video tutorials and ParentVUE activation instructions are available to help families complete AOVP. Contact your child’s school for assistance activating your ParentVUE account, completing AOVP, or additional support.
APS is making a few adjustments to COVID protocols based on the latest guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH). Overall, most COVID-19 protocols have not changed. Primary changes are related to contact tracing, quarantine, and isolation procedures. View the updated COVID-19 Protocols and FAQ online. We will continue to adjust our protocols based on local conditions and the latest guidance and will communicate changes as needed.
