Final High School Boundary Options Available Online, Board Action on Dec. 1

The final high school boundary refinement options and associated data have been posted online on BoardDocs for the School Board action on December 1, 2016. The information is also available at aps2016.apsva.us/apsboundaries.

At the Nov. 9 School Board Work Session on high school boundary refinements, a number of questions were raised about the two slides that addressed capacity utilization. Staff reviewed and revised the projected movement of students which resulted in some adjustments. To make sure that APS estimates were accurate, Dr. Richard Grip was asked to review and validate all of the projections as well as calculation methodology. Dr. Grip worked with APS and Arlington County on the recent Arlington Community Facilities Study, and he validated and confirmed APS processes for projecting student enrollment. The data for each of the four proposed options remains the same.
