On July 1, the Arlington School Board held its annual organizational meeting for the 2021-22 school year and elected Dr. Barbara Kanninen as Chair and Reid Goldstein as Vice Chair. Their terms will continue until June 30, 2022.

W. Aug. 11        Superintendent Dr. Francisco Durán hosts Community Town Hall to provide back-to-school updates for students and families. Simultaneous interpretation to be provided.

Arlington Community Events:
Arlington County’s Public Health Division is offering free, walk-in COVID-19 vaccine clinics to individuals ages 12+, no appointment required. Children 12-17 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. These clinics are for first dose only. The full schedule is available online.

Arlington County offers free, virtual U.S. Citizenship Classes and a scholarship for the USCIS application fee for eligible residents, based on household income. Learn more here or contact Susan at 703-228-1198.

Fri. July 9         Arlington LGBTQ Youth (ALY) Youth, families, and allies are invited to second Friday virtual meeting. ALY is a monthly safe-space hangout for youth ages 12-19 and their allies.

Now –                Korean War: Worldwide Photo Essay & Video Contest, hosted by the Korean War Veterans Memorial Foundation. $10,000 in awards.
