Celebrate Your Muscle-Powered School Commute on Walk, Bike and Roll to School Day 2021

WALK BIKE ROLL LOGOOn Wed, Oct. 6, all APS schools are taking part in Walk, Bike and Roll to School Day, an annual international celebration that encourages students to walk, bike or roll to school while teaching the health, environmental and community-building benefits of active transportation and safe routes to school. APS has been taking part in this worldwide celebration for nearly two decades, as part of our transportation philosophy and commitment to sustainability.

With the return to in-person instruction, the 2021 event will kick off a year-long focus on multimodal transportation safety, redoubling APS efforts to make safe walking, biking and rolling part of the school commute on Oct. 6 and every day.

All schools are registered for Walk Bike and Roll to School Day 2021, and each will participate in its own way, with morning welcome events and other activities planned.

More information and ideas for participation can be found on the APS website as well as the Virginia Safe Routes to School website.

All APS participants are encouraged to tweet using #APSWalk2School.
