Career Center Chef Honored by Chamber of Commerce

Chef Renee RandolphCareer Center chef Renee Randolph was recognized as a 2018 Hospitality Superstar by the Arlington Chamber of Commerce at the 14th Annual Hospitality Awards held on Tuesday at the Renaissance Arlington Capital View Hotel. The awards are presented each year to hospitality workers who deliver outstanding customer service, exhibit excellence in their roles, and continuously exceeding their job descriptions.

Randolph was recognized for demonstrating consistent initiative, dependability and commitment to high standards. She created a pop-up monthly restaurant that has transformed the regular culinary arts program by training students about the front and back end of running a restaurant. She goes above and beyond the culinary arts standard curriculum so that students learn and apply the hospitality and business skills related to the restaurant industry. She has been recognized as an outstanding teacher, which is reflected by the countless scholarships and awards that her students have earned. She is a true asset to those who work with her and to her community.

Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).
