APS Students Earn Honors at Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair

The Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair announced the winners of its annual competition held on April 10. The fair was hosted virtually by Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine in Roanoke. The following APS students placed in their categories or received awards:

Colin Berry (Yorktown) – 2nd place, Behavioral and Social Sciences

Julia Brodsky (H-B Woodlawn) – 2nd place, Chemistry
Optimization of an Electrocoagulation System for the Removal of Polyatomic Ions from Water

A Solution to Plastic Pollution: An Investigation into Microplastic Removal from Water Using Ferrofluid

Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).
