Today, APS launched a new video series on the Whole Child. In the debut video, Director of Secondary Education, Tyrone Byrd, Director of Students Services Dr. Laura Newton and Supervisor of Counseling Services Pam McClellan discuss the Whole Child framework and what it means for students.
The Whole Child framework defines the APS vision to develop a sustainable approach to ensure that each student is healthy, safe, supported and engaged.
In its 2015‐16 School Board Priorities, the Arlington School Board included direction on establishing a more integrated and formalized approach to ensuring that APS fulfills its current Strategic Plan Goal Five: Meet the Needs of the Whole Child. In February 2016, the School Board appointed the Whole Child Working Group.
