APS CTE Programs and Partnerships Recognized as Exemplary by the VDOE The Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and Virginia Community College System recently honored three Arlington Public Schools career and technical education (CTE) programs and partnerships. The awards were presented during the annual Creating Excellence Awards Program in Richmond on June 9. The VDOE Secondary CTE awards were given in three categories as follows:

  • Advisory Committee Awards Region 4 – The Arlington Career Center Parent, Business, and Community Advisory Committee
  • Business and Industry Partnership Awards Region 4 – Culpepper Gardens, nominated by Arlington County Public Schools
  • Program Awards Region 4 – Arlington Public Schools Television Production and Media Technology Program

Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).
