Nominations are OPEN for Virginia’s Most Outstanding Crossing Guard of 2021

Crossing Guard 2022Every February as part of Crossing Guard Appreciation Week, the Virginia Department of Transportation/Safe Routes to School honors Virginia’s Most Outstanding Crossing Guards of the year.

Nominations are now open for this year’s award.

To recognize our hard-working APS crossing guards as part of Crossing Guard Appreciation Week 2022, APS and Virginia Safe Routes to School encourage APS elementary and middle school students, families and staff to nominate school Crossing Guard(s) as Virginia’s Most Outstanding of 2021!

DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS is Friday, January 21, 2022. 

APS will celebrate Crossing Guard Appreciation Week 2022 February 7-11. Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).

School Board Appoints Principal of Arlington Science Focus Elementary School

At its June 22 meeting, the Arlington School Board appointed Gina Miller as Principal of Arlington Science Focus Elementary School.
