Local singer songwriter and H-B Woodlawn senior Calista Garcia has been recognized for her outstanding artistic achievements in vocal/songwriting and joins 710 of the nation’s most promising young artists to be selected as a 2018 National YoungArts Winner. Garcia is one of 28 songwriters nationwide selected for recognition.
Selected through a blind adjudication process conducted by an independent panel of highly accomplished artists, the 2019 winners represent the top 10 percent of applications.Garcia has been invited to attend YoungArts regional program in Miami this February.
Garcia was also recognized as a National YoungArts Winner in 2018 and is currently a 2018 Strathmore Artist in Residence.
