Oct. 25 Engage Updates: Elementary Boundary Update: High School Information Night

Elementary School Boundaries
On Oct. 24, APS published an updated boundary proposal for the following elementary schools: Abingdon, Barcroft, Drew, Fleet (Henry), Hoffman-Boston, Long Branch, Oakridge and Randolph. The School Board will vote Dec. 6 on boundaries for these schools which will take effect in Sept. 2019.

Community members can send questions and comments on the proposed boundaries to engage@apsva.us by October 29 for these to be taken into account before the Superintendent’s boundary proposal is published on November 5 at aps2016.apsva.us/elementary-school-boundary-change/. High School Information Night is Oct. 29
APS will host High School Information Night on Monday, Oct. 29, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Washington-Lee High School (1301 N. Stafford St.). Families can get information about APS high schools, the registration process, school options and transfers, application deadlines and procedures, school information sessions, available resources, and more.

Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).

School Board Appoints Principal of Arlington Science Focus Elementary School

At its June 22 meeting, the Arlington School Board appointed Gina Miller as Principal of Arlington Science Focus Elementary School.

At its June 22 meeting, the Arlington School Board appointed Dr. Liza Burrell-Aldana as Principal of Claremont Immersion Elementary School.
