School Board Approves Change Order for Yorktown Internal Modifications

The School Board approved a change order of $229,121 to the construction contract for internal modifications to Yorktown High School at last night’s meeting to add security renovations at the main entrance. Funding for the security renovations was already approved by the School Board on May 3, 2018. The full presentation is available on BoardDocs. 

INFORMATION ITEMS:

• FY 2020 Budget Development Calendar – Staff presented the FY 2020 Budget Development Calendar to the Board. The proposed FY20 calendar is available online.
• Schematic Design for the New School at Reed – The schematic design for the new elementary school at the Reed Building was also presented. The renovations will add 725 seats and will be ready for the start of the 2021 school year. The proposed schematic design is available online.

APPOINTMENTS:
The School Board appointed Louis Villafane as the Director of Counseling at the Arlington Career Center. Villifane is currently the Director of Counseling at Kenmore Middle School.

The School Board will hold its next meeting on Aug. 2 at 7 p.m. The agenda will be posted one week before the meeting on BoardDocs.
