Two Students Earn National PTA Reflections Honors

Two Arlington students earned national honors in the PTA Reflections contest.

The students honored are:

• Sereen Yusuf, Gunston Middle School – Award of Merit in Film Production: How I Portrayed the Voices of People
• Ash Martinez Urquiza, Wakefield High School – Award of Merit in Film Production: Within Reach

Reflections is a nationwide contest and arts promotion program that encourages students to create works in dance choreography, film production, literature, musical composition, photography, and visual arts, based on a common theme. This year’s theme was “Within Reach.”  All students from prekindergarten through 12th grade were eligible to enter.

The students will be recognized All winning works will be debuted at the U.S. Department of Education in Washington, DC. The exhibit opens on January 22, 2019.
