New School Principal Search

Principal Search for New Middle School at Stratford Site 

APS will open a new middle school in September 2019 at the Stratford site (currently the location of HB Woodlawn and the Stratford Program). We are conducting a nationwide search for a principal to lead this new school, and are seeking community input. We hope for broad participation from staff, students, parents and other community members in a community questionnaire about the opportunities and challenges with opening a new school, and the attributes and characteristics desired in a principal.

A recent School Board decision approved new middle school boundaries to create an attendance zone for the new school at Stratford and balance enrollment across all middle schools. Families impacted by the boundary adjustments will be notified by mail in February 2018. Information about those boundary changes and the new attendance zones for the 2019-20 school year can be found at aps2016.apsva.us/engage/middle-school-boundary-change/.

Principal Search for New Elementary School at Drew

APS is conducting a nationwide search for a principal to lead the new elementary school at Drew, and is working with the community in preparation for the new school that will launch in September 2019. A questionnaire was  open through Thursday, February 8, 2018, to collect input in the search for a principal for the new elementary school at Drew

APS hopes for broad participation from staff, students, parents, and community members on the opportunities and challenges with opening a new school, and the attributes and characteristics desired in a principal to lead this school.
