Women’s History Month

Womens History Month March 2023Women’s History Month highlights the many accomplishments and contributions women have made to history, culture and society.

The National Women’s History Alliance (NWHA) has an annual theme for Women’s History Month. For 2023, the theme is “Celebrating Women Who Tell Our Stories.”

Throughout 2023, the NWHA will encourage recognition of women, past and present, who have been active in all forms of media and storytelling including print, radio, TV, stage, screen, blogs, podcasts, and more. The timely theme honors women in every community who have devoted their lives and talents to producing art, pursuing truth, and reflecting the human condition decade after decade.

This year Arlington Public Schools (APS) will celebrate our community members and teachers and staff who tell stories through the arts, education and other forms of communication. These women will be featured on this page, and across all of the APS social media platforms. APS is honored to have the opportunity to recognize these women for their dedication and commitment to the Arlington community.
