APS Unveils Two Proposals that Explore Moving Some Elementary Schools in 2021-22

Arlington Public Schools shared two proposals for relocating some elementary schools in advance of the Fall 2020 Elementary Boundary Process. The proposals are posted online for community input and will be reviewed and potentially revised as APS gathers stakeholders’ ideas and suggestions

Discovery Earns Virginia Purple Star Award

Discovery Elementary School was one of 123 schools to be recognized as a Purple Star school by the Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) and the Virginia Council on the Interstate Compact on Educational Opportunity for Military Children.

School Board Hears Update on Capital Projects and Changes to Project Funding for Dorothy Hamm Middle School and The Heights Building

At Thursday’s School Board meeting, staff presented updates on capital projects and proposed changes to the Dorothy Hamm Middle School and The Heights Building construction project funding. Both schools were completed on time to welcome students for the start of the 2019-20 school year and require additional funding for project completion.
