The secondary course progressions provide students with multiple entry points, recognizing that students develop in various ways at different rates. The progressions ensure all students have access to courses on or above grade level. Each year, rising 6th graders, rising 7th graders, and rising 8th graders, and their families (through ParentVue) receive a recommendation from the Secondary Mathematics Office at the end of June/early July for their next course on the basis of variety of data points related to math content knowledge, mathematical reasoning, and readiness.
