APS Now Accepting Online Applications for Elementary Option Schools
- Applicants will be able to save and return to their application.
- Applicants will be able to print their responses.
- Applicants can access their responses to their application through a link in the confirmation email.
- Gmail has a filter on K-12 Insight. Applicants with a Gmail address should check their spam folders if they do not receive the automated confirmation email within 24 hours.
- VPI and Pre-K Montessori are not available through this online application, and are available in paper form at the APS Welcome Center (2110 Washington Blvd).
- Families should call the APS Welcome Center at 703-228-8000 or email schooloptions@apsva.us for any questions related to the elementary option schools application.

2018 Secondary Option School Application information
On Friday, January 19, the applications for APS secondary options schools closed for families. Transfer applications then closed on Friday, January 26. On Friday, January 26, the Welcome Center facilitated the lottery for each of the options programs. Families were notified via email of their status on Friday, February 2 with a follow-up letter mailed to each family the week of February 5. Parents must confirm or decline attendance to the school(s) or program(s) to which their students have been accepted no later than February 23, 2018. Students who applied, but were not selected through the lottery process, will be placed in numerical order on a waiting list. Applications received after the deadline are placed at the bottom of the existing waiting list for the upcoming school year. More information is available on the How to Apply page.
