Facilities Optimization Studies

The Arlington Public Schools (APS) Facilities Optimization Studies are created to address student enrollment growth in the short term. The studies establish where temporary relocatable classrooms may be located at each school based on physical and environmental constraints. The studies provide APS staff with the information necessary to make informed decisions around APS budgeting, facilities, and programs. The analysis in these reports was conducted by Facilities and Operations staff with assistance from Department of Planning and Evaluation staff and was reviewed by the Advisory Council on School Facilities and Capital Programs (FAC). Refinements to the studies and collaboration on future updates are ongoing.
