Committee Reports

The ACTL advisory committees for each of the thirteen curriculum and instructional areas meet regularly to discuss improvements that will benefit Arlington Public School students. Reports and recommendations of every committee are presented to the Advisory Council on Teaching & Learning and ultimately the School Board. APS staff write responses to these recommendations. 2014-2015 ACI Advisory Committee Calendar/Vice Chair Liaisons

We’ve had a number of questions about how the School Board is informed of committee recommendations. ACI committees make recommendations to the School Board on alternating years. The recommendations are discussed with the School Board members at a work session in January. In May of the same year, the Assistant Superintendent of Instruction provides a status update on the recommendations at a School Board meeting. This year’s recommendations will be presented at the School Board work session on January 29, with an update to the School Board in May 2015. Thus, this year’s Status Report will share an update on this school year’s committee recommendations.
