Taking college entrance examinations is a very important step in the college process. The college entrance exams are the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) and the American College Test (ACT). Most colleges require that a student submit a score on one of the college entrance exams in order to be considered for enrollment. Students have practice opportunities before taking the actual test. Through Naviance students can complete the PrepMe course that helps prepare for the college entrance exam. Also, all students in APS are offered the opportunity to take the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) in 10th grade. The PSAT is a very important test that helps students prepare by providing a score report that details each student’s strengths and areas of growth. Students then take the SAT and/or ACT in 11th an/or 12th grade. The SAT and ACT can be taken more than once for students to obtain the highest possible score. Students should learn more about the SAT or ACT score requirements for the school(s) in which they plan to apply.
