The International Baccalaureate Organization (IB) released the worldwide scores this week and Washington-Liberty High School students continue to outperform their peers.

For a second year, IB adjusted administration of May examinations due to safety concerns regarding COVID-19. IB instead provided a process for issuing scores based on internal assessments (completed in every IB course), predicted grades, and five years of school data.

W-L students surpassed their worldwide peers in diploma pass rate, average score pass rate, and the average points earned by diploma candidates. In addition, the overall pass rate for all W-L students participating in IB classes, including Diploma Candidates and Course Candidates, is the highest in the 25-year history of IB at W-L at 92.6%.

Congratulations to these students for their hard work, their passion for learning at a high level, and for their ability to persist even under challenging circumstances. W-L educators deserve high acclaim as they worked tirelessly to ensure that students were engaged in their learning through virtual, hybrid, and concurrent instruction and to thoroughly deliver challenging curriculum in these instructional settings.

Note: IB scores range from 1-7 with 4 considered a pass and 7 the highest score

Additional Note: 170,660 students worldwide participated in IB assessments. Of these 104,275 pursued the non-exam route.
