Career Center Students Shine at SkillsUSA State Competition

SkillsUSA logoCareer Center students recently competed at the annual SkillsUSA competition in Virginia Beach. The Gold Medal winners will compete at the national competition this June in Louisville. Students competed in various events such as television production, commercial baking, medical terminology, auto maintenance, and collision repair.

The National SkillsUSA Competition features competitors from around the nation to compete in a once-in-a-lifetime event that awards students scholarships, prizes, and achievements that are indicative of excellence in their fields.

The medalists at the State Level were as follows:

Gold:

  • Sergio Alvarado-Lopez – Electrical Construction Wiring (Postsecondary)
  • Georgia Blanchard – Television Production (Team of 2)
  • Campbell Hamilton-Howard – Television Production (Team of 2)
  • Dalba Cruz-Medina – Early Childhood Education
  • Sebastian Duall – Broadcast News (Team of 4)
  • Abby Dhakal – Broadcast News (Team of 4)
  • Emilio Tognelli – Broadcast News (Team of 4)
  • Alice Buckley – Broadcast News (Team of 4)
  • Jordan Flores – Tv Production – Pre-produced Cuts Only
  • Sebastian Duall – Tv Production – Pre-produced Cuts Only
  • Kevin Villalobos – Medical Math

Silver:
