All District Orchestra Concert; Choral Pyramid Concerts and Honors Music Concert

All-District Junior and Senior Orchestra
District XII Junior and Senior Orchestra auditions took place on November 13h.  Students that were accepted into these honor ensembles will perform 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 12th at Wakefield High School.   

Junior All-District Orchestra (grades 7-8)
Thomas Jefferson Middle School: Ella Gundrum, violin
Swanson Middle School: Harrison Bachrack, double bass

Senior All-District Orchestra (grades 9-12)
Wakefield High School: Ian Moran, cello
Washington-Lee High School: Henry Nissen, violin; Lily Watson, violin
Yorktown High School: Seo Yeon Ryu, violin

APS Choral Pyramid Concerts at Wakefield, Washington-Lee, and Yorktown High Schools
The Wakefield Choral Pyramid concert will take place at Wakefield HS at 7 p.m. Mon, Jan. 14. Choral groups from Gunston and Kenmore middle schools as well as Wakefield High School will perform. The Yorktown Choral Pyramid concert will take place at 7 p.m. on Wed, Jan. 16 at Yorktown High Schools and features choral groups from Williamsburg Middle School,  H-B Woodlawn Secondary (middle school only) and Yorktown. The Washington-Lee Choral Pyramid concert will take place at Washington-Lee at 7 p.m. on Thu, Jan. 17. Choruses from Jefferson and Swanson middle schools and Washington-Lee High School will perform. All choral groups will be perform individually and conclude with a combined group number. Admission for all events is free and open to the public.

Upcoming Arlington Public Schools Honors Music Concert
The 7th and 8th grade Honors Band, Honors Orchestra and Middle School Honors Chorus (grades 6-8) will perform in concert on Sat, Jan. 26 at Kenmore Middle School at 4 p.m. Students were selected by audition to perform under directors Jay Pratte (Honors Band), David Lunt (Honors Orchestra) and Christian Banach (Honors Chorus). The concert is a culmination of evening rehearsals and a wonderful opportunity to showcase the talents of these young musicians. The concert will be approximately an hour and a half long and admission is free.
