When contact tracing, how will those involved know if students were engaged in consistent and correct usage of well-fitting masks?

posted Aug 17

Schools will collaborate with the local health department to confidentially provide information about people diagnosed with or exposed to COVID-19. This allows identifying which students, teachers, and staff with positive COVID-19 test results should isolate, and which close contacts should quarantine.

Consistent and correct mask use is an important prevention strategy. Confirming the proper use of masks in the classroom is important for the Arlington County Public Health Department during contact tracing and investigation. APS provides the ACPHD with information, and the ACPHD conducts interviews with multiple employees and families to confirm the accuracy of the information provided.
