APS Musicians Performed at the Dominion Energy Center for the Performing Arts

Twenty-five APS students performed in the 2018 All-Virginia Band, Chorus and Orchestra ensembles in Richmond this past weekend. Selected through a highly competitive audition process, there were five total ensembles, including: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Orchestra, Treble Choir and Mixed Choir, who will be playing over the weekend.

Arlington Public Schools students who participated in the ensembles include.

H-B Woodlawn Secondary – Grace Goldman and Audrey Smith

Wakefield High School – Ethan Thomas and Cameron Ware

Washington-Lee High School – Joel Brown, Marissa McDonnell, Gregory Roberts and Sabrina Shuster

Yorktown High School – Matthew Cummings, William Holtz, James Nicholson and Jackson Pope

Gunston Middle School – Dalia Batista-Gollopp

Jefferson Middle School – Ellie Gookin and Marina Hall

Swanson Middle School – Maya Aguirre, Carson Barnes, Henry Bedell, Sally Bedell, Tommy Berenson, Noelle George, Sofia Gerensky-Greene, Zoe Nagle, Ann Leslie Riley and Fiona Shepherd

Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).
