New School Board Chair and Vice Chair Elected
The Arlington School Board held its organizational meeting and first meeting of the 2018-19 school year. During the meeting, the Board elected Reid Goldstein as Chair and Tannia Talento as Vice Chair.
In addition, the Board adopted the schedule of School Board meetings and School Board Member Liaison assignments for the 2018-19 school. Both items will be posted online.The Board also approved a new start time for meetings during the 2018-19 school year. Meetings will begin at 7 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
APPOINTMENTS
In approving the Consent Agenda, the School Board made two appointments.
- Kerri Hirsch was named Supervisor of Social Studies. She is currently a teacher specialist for Professional Learning.
- Yolanda Nashid was appointed assistant principal of the Montessori Program which is currently located at Drew Model School. Nashid is an assistant principal at the Capitol Hill Montessori School in Washington, DC.
ACTION ITEMS
Finally, the Board approved the Construction Change Order for Career Center Internal Modifications. The full presentation and details are available BoardDocs.
NEXT SCHOOL BOARD MEETING
The School Board will its next meeting on July 17 at 7 p.m. The agenda will be posted one week before the meeting on BoardDocs.
