National Foreign Language Week Events

language weekCome Celebrate Diversity and World Languages with Arlington Public Schools in Honor of National Foreign Language Week! There are two events planned.

  • Speaking in Tongues a documentary by Patchwork Films followed by facilitated round table discussions – Tue, March 5 from 7-9 p.m. at Wakefield
    Immersion Principals Jessica Panfil, Marleny Perdomo, Dr. Lori Wiggins, and Dr. Chris Willmore, and Supervisor of World Languages Elisabeth Harrington will be hosting an evening to view the film Speaking in Tongues followed by discussion on bilingualism and biliteracy.
  • Celebration of our K-12 World Language Students’ Accomplishments – Wed, March 6 from 4-6 p.m. at the Career Center
    The World Languages Office will be hosting our annual K-12 student showcasing of their language skills.  Come watch choirs sing, student skits, and more!

Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).

School Board Appoints Principal of Arlington Science Focus Elementary School

At its June 22 meeting, the Arlington School Board appointed Gina Miller as Principal of Arlington Science Focus Elementary School. 

School Board Appoints Principal of Claremont Immersion Elementary School

At its June 22 meeting, the Arlington School Board appointed Dr. Liza Burrell-Aldana as Principal of Claremont Immersion Elementary School.
