Honors Band, Chorus and Orchestra Auditions To Begin This Week

The APS Arts Education Department is holding auditions for Honors Chorus, Honors Band and Honors Orchestra for elementary and middle school students beginning on Wed, Oct. 26 and running through Wed, Nov 16. Materials for interested students, including the registration form is available on the APS website, or from school music teachers. Pre-registration is highly recommended. Families who are unable to download the registration form may register onsite on the day of the audition.

Honors Chorus
Grade 5 Elementary Honors Chorus

Auditions: Wednesday, Oct. 26 and Thursday, Oct. 27, Kenmore Middle School. Wednesday’s audition is from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday’s audition is from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Students may leave when their audition is finished. Pre-registration online is encouraged and check-in begins 15 minutes prior to each audition slot.\

Rehearsals:

• 6:45-8 p.m., Tuesdays, Jan. 10 – March 21, Mondays, March 13 and 20 at Kenmore Middle School
• Mon, February 27 is a snow make-up date if needed
• Performance: Tue, March 21 at 7 p.m. at Kenmore Middle School

Honors Band and Orchestra
Grade 7-8 Honors Band and Orchestra:

Auditions: Wednesday, November 2, Kenmore Middle School. Auditions are from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Pre-registration online is encouraged and check-in begins 15 minutes prior to each audition slot. Students may leave when their audition is finished.

Rehearsals:

• Wed, Jan. 25, 6-8:30 p.m., Kenmore Middle School
• Thu, Jan. 26, 6-8:30 p.m., Kenmore Middle School
• Fri, Jan. 27, 6-9 p.m., Kenmore Middle School
• Dress Rehearsal, Sat, Jan. 28, 1-2:30 p.m. (band) or 3-4:30 p.m. (orchestra), Kenmore Middle School. In the event of a snow day, rehearsal will be lengthened on Sat, January 28 before the concert.
• Performance:  Sat, Jan. 28, at 5 p.m., Kenmore Middle School (snow make-up performance is scheduled for Mon, Jan 30).

Grade 6-8 Middle School Honors Chorus

Auditions: Thursday, November 3, Kenmore Middle School. Auditions are from 5:00-8:00 p.m.  Pre-registration online is encouraged and check-in begins 15 minutes prior to each audition slot.

Rehearsals:

• 6:30-8:30 p.m., Tuesdays, Jan. 17-March 14, Mondays, March 13 and 20 at Jefferson Middle School
• Mon, February 27 is a snow make-up date if needed
• Dress Rehearsal, Mon, March 20, at Kenmore Middle School
• Performance: Tue, March 21 at 7 p.m. at Kenmore Middle School

Grade 4-6 Jr. Honors Orchestra

Auditions: Wednesday, Nov. 9, Kenmore Middle School.  Auditions are from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Pre-registration online is encouraged and check-in begins 15 minutes prior to each audition slot. Students may leave when their audition is finished.Early auditions available for violins only from 4-5:30 p.m. Check In begins 15 minutes prior to each audition slot.
