In this week’s episode of Historical Markers, Oakridge Elementary School teacher Jennifer Burgin visits Arlington National Cemetery.

Arlington National Cemetery is a 624-acre memorial built on the grounds of the Arlington House during the Civil War. Over 400,000 military veterans and their families are buried here. In addition to many memorials including the gravesite of President John F. Kennedy, there are many famous people buried here including Thurgood Marshall, Mary Randolph, Matthew Henson and Robert E. Peary. The common bond between all buried here is their service to the United States.
