Eight Schools Receive Purple Star Designation

In addition to Veterans Day, November is the national recognition month for honoring our military families. This is the perfect time to celebrate our military-friendly schools!

The Virginia Purple Star Designation is awarded to schools that have demonstrated a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military.

Congratulations to our eight newly designated Distinguished Purple Star Schools!

Escuela Key Elementary
Hoffman-Boston Elementary
Kenmore Middle School
Oakridge Elementary
Swanson Middle School
Thomas Jefferson Middle School

*Discovery Elementary was the first APS school to receive Purple Star designation in 2019.

Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program
