Eight Schools Receive Purple Star Designation

In addition to Veterans Day, November is the national recognition month for honoring our military families. This is the perfect time to celebrate our military-friendly schools!​​

The Virginia Purple Star Designation is awarded to schools that have demonstrated a major commitment to students and families connected to our nation’s military.​​

​*Discovery Elementary was the first APS school to receive Purple Star designation in 2019.​​

Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).
