The School Board is Accepting Applications for the Advisory Council on Teaching and Learning and Budget Advisory Council (BAC)
The Arlington School Board values input from parents and members of the community as part of the APS decision-making process. The School Board is currently accepting applications for the Advisory Council on Teaching and Learning (formerly Advisory Council on Instruction) and Budget Advisory Council. Information and applications can be found on the APS website.

Know an exemplary leader under 40? Leadership Center for Excellence is looking for 40 young leaders to recognize at the 2021 Northern Virginia 40 Under 40 celebration. Applicants must be born before March 26, 1981. Applications due Feb. 8.

Arlington Community Resources:

– No-cost COVID-19 testing. Sites do not require insurance, ID or a doctor’s referral. Arlington County operates a free, walk-in clinic M-F 12-5 p.m. at Arlington Mill Community Center (909 S. Dinwiddie St.). Aurora Hills Community Center and Tucker Field at Barcroft Park sites offer electronic results within 72 hours. Visit web or call 703-912-7999 for information.

– Free flu shots.
Call Arlington Public Health at 703-228-1200 for an appointment. – Arlington County offers food, financial and medical assistance resources. For food, call 703-228-1300.

– Arlington Office of Emergency Management announces its first Arlington CERT Basic Training in Spanish starting Feb 10. Must be 18 years of age or older to join.
