Community Engagement Opportunities – February 2021

Dear Friends of APS:

This week, nearly 200 Career & Technical Education (CTE) students enrolled in select courses at the Arlington Career Center will return for hybrid/in-person learning. We are glad to have many teachers and staff back in our buildings last week and this week to continue preparations for more students to return. Superintendent Durán’s weekly updates explain how APS is determining and preparing for additional students to return to in-person learning.

Comments can be provided on the draft M-15 Aquatics Facilities and Program policy through Feb. 15 and on the draft G-1.2 Staff Electronic Technologies Acceptable Use Policy by March 2.

Arlington Magazine is looking for candidates who excel in academics, extracurriculars and service, as well as individuals who have overcome significant life obstacles. Last call for 40 under 40 leader! Leadership Center for Excellence is looking for 40 young leaders to recognize at the 2021 Northern Virginia 40 Under 40 celebration. Applicants must be born before March 26, 1981. Applications due Feb. 8.

– No-cost COVID-19 testing. Sites do not require insurance, ID or a doctor’s referral. Arlington County operates a free, walk-in clinic M-F 12-5 p.m. at Arlington Mill Community Center (909 S.
