The School Board discussed and approved the educational specifications for the Career Center expansion at Thursday’s meeting.

The Arlington School Board’s November schedule of Board Meetings, Work Sessions, and Advisory Council and Committee Meetings is now available.

At Thursday’s School Board meeting, staff presented updates on capital projects and proposed changes to the Dorothy Hamm Middle School and The Heights Building construction project funding. Both schools were completed on time to welcome students for the start of the 2019-20 school year and require additional funding for project completion.

The School Board adopted its Fiscal Year 2021 Budget Direction at the Oct. 3 meeting.

This year, we have heard from some families who have raised concerns about any changes in APS immigration policies. As School Board members, educators and school leaders, we want to restate and reaffirm our core values, and to reassure everyone that all students and all families are welcome and safe in our schools.

The Arlington School Board adopted its 2019-20 Action Plan that will be shared as a progress report for School Board priorities during the year ahead at last night’s meeting.
