Career Center Students Excel at State SkillsUSA Competition

12 Move on to SkillsUSA National Competition

Fifty-six Career Center students competed in the Virginia SkillsUSA competition at end of April. Students competed in various events such as television production, commercial baking, medical terminology, auto maintenance, and collision repair.

The National SkillsUSA Competition which takes place in Louisville, Kentucky, from June 25-29 and features competitors from around the nation to compete in a once-in-a-lifetime event that awards students scholarships, prizes, and achievements that are indicative of excellence in their fields. The following Career Center students will be representing Virginia at the National competition.

Arlington Public Schools to Participate Summer Meals Program

Arlington Public Schools is participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to students ages 18 and under on a first come, first serve basis, from July 5-Aug. 1 at Carlin Springs Elementary School (5995 5th Road S.).
