School Board Adopts New Elementary School Boundaries for September 2019
On Dec. 6, the School Board approved elementary school boundary adjustments to create attendance zones for the new Alice W. Fleet Elementary School and Drew Elementary, and balance enrollment among the schools involved.
APS Signs Agreement to Bring Solar Power to Five More Schools
On December 6, 2018, APS signed an agreement to partner with Sun Tribe Solar of Charlottesville, Va. to install rooftop solar panels on five schools across the county. APS staff, local leaders, partners and students were there to celebrate and recognize the excellent work of the APS team that helped make it happen.
APS Snow Procedures and Reminders
The first snowfall of 2018 is behind us, and more is likely on the way. As we are now moving into the winter months when “snow days” are a possibility, I want to take this opportunity to share more information about our inclement weather procedures and ask families to review it before another weather-related incident.
