Enrollment and Transfers Feedback Form

APS is preparing for 30,000+ students by 2021 and the School Board has directed staff to work with the community to propose revisions to policy 25-2.2 Enrollment and Transfers for Schools and Programs.  Most of the current policy was written in 2001 when enrollment at many APS schools was below full capacity.  Today, enrollment is growing by an average of 800 students a year and many of the procedures within the policy are no longer applicable.

The guiding principles for the policy revisions include:

• providing blend of neighborhood and option schools

• ensuring equitable access

• simplifying the policy and making it easier to communicate, while standardizing practices

In this first revision of policy 25-2.2, APS separates policy from implementation procedures to create an updated policy and a new PIP.  Staff is also proposing some revisions that change current transfer practices.  This feedback form is seeking community input on the changes.  Your feedback on this form will be used by staff to shape a second draft of the policy for enrollment and transfers.
