Arlington’s Reevesland Farmhouse Featured on Historical Markers

reevelsandIn this week’s episode, Historical Markers features the Reevesland Farmhouse. Reevesland has the distinction of being the last operating dairy farm in Arlington. The 160-acre farm remained in the same family for three generations and it represents an important era in Arlington’s history, when the area was transformed from a sleepy, rural community into the thriving suburban/urban county it is today. Reevesland was the name given to the farm and dairy operation by George Reeves.

Watch this short video about the bridge and use #APSHistoricalMarkers to respond to and ask questions about its history. The Historical Markers video series, produced by APS, highlights just a few of the more than 80 historical markers highlighting important sites in Arlington’s past to engage students in learning about local history.
