APS is excited to announce the April 2023 APS All Stars, selected out of several hundred outstanding staff nominees!
Career Center and Wakefield Seniors Receive $40,000 Scholarship and Internship Offer from Amazon to Pursue Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science or Engineering
Arlington Career Center senior Kimberly Montesflores Gonzalez and Wakefield High School senior Naomi Lindsay have been named an Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship recipient and will receive $40,000 over four years to pursue a degree in computer science or engineering at a college of their choice.

April is a month of many celebrations, including After School Professionals Appreciation Week and National Library Week (April 24-28). Please join us in thanking the Extended Day/ Check-In staff and our librarians for the great work they do to support our students.
Yorktown and Williamsburg Earn Blue Ribbon Award from Virginia Music Educators Association
Throughout the month of March all APS middle and high school band, choir and orchestra students participated in the District XII state music assessments which are part of the Virginia Band and Orchestra Directors Association (VBODA) and Virginia Choral Directors Association (VCDA).
2023 All-Virginia Music Honors for APS Students
Nineteen APS students will be participating in the upcoming All-Virginia Orchestra, All-Virginia Symphonic Band, All-Virginia Concert Band and All-Virginia Chorus ensembles running from Thu, April 27-29.
